With the
recent back to back
blizzards leaving us
with over 2 ½
feet of snow and
drifts exceeding 4
feet, most of the
Sikes Ranch
residences find them
selves busy digging
out. However,
digging out was only
needed to reach the
Sikes Ranch
Roads. Our road
maintenance and snow
removal contractor,
Mike Williams of
Four Seasons
Excavating was up
and at it early in
both storms clearing
our roads.
The snow
poles that the Sikes
Ranch HOA put in
place a few years
back proved
invaluable in
assisting in
navigating the roads
made virtually
invisible by the
deep, blowing and
drifting
snow. Mike was
so appreciative of
how well the poles
worked for him that
he called Rodney
Smith to thank him
and to get more
information about
them so that he
could pass it onto
his other clients
such as the Hatchet
Ranch, our neighbors
to the
North. He said
it saved him a lot
of time plowing
because of them and
the way they're laid
out. On the
Hatchet roads, they
found themselves
having to stop their
equipment, get out
and walk around in
order to find where
the roads were.
As a result
of the great effort
that Mike puts into
plowing for us,
usually very early
in the morning and
often in extreme
condition, our roads
are for the most
part dry and
undamaged just a few
days after the storm
passes.
