New additions to our Web Site and News!

"Sikes Ranch is a Working Cattle Ranch"

Just a reminder, Colorado is an "Open Range" or " Fence Out" State. If you do NOT want cattle on your property it is up to you to fence them out!

This doesn't mean you have to completely fence your property, you definitely have choices. You can simply fence a small portion, for instance, maybe an acre or two where your house is, or a portion for your own livestock needs and allow cattle to graze the rest.  Cattle not only help control the height of the grass, reducing the fire danger, but help control the weeds as well.

More information can be found at the
Colorado Department of Agriculture Web Site.

 Noxious Weed Alert!
Noxious Weeds seem to be taking hold again both on and near Sikes Ranch. Although the HOA does a lot to control weeds, both native and noxious along the private Sikes Ranch roads, it is up to the property owners to control weeds within their properties. This is not only to preserve the natural beauty of the Ranch and your property, it is also the law.

There are ordinances against having noxious weeds on private properties.

Canada Thistle

Here is some Updated information put together by the Colorado State University Extension with regard to the Canada Thistle that is ever abundant especially within Sikes Ranch Properties along Abbey Road.

If we all work together we can get these damaging weeds under control and keep them off our properties!

Click here for information on the Colorado Department of Agriculture's, Noxious Weed Program for Pueblo County and to report serious infestations of these damaging weeds.
